About the event

Tammy has a Ph.D. in Critical Disability Studies from York University. Her research focuses on social movement organizing to end gender-based violence in the disability community. She is also interested in understanding how various aspects of identity intersect to affect the way we experience the world.

Tammy has been working on disability rights and inclusion at local, national, and international levels for over 15 years and continues to pursue her passion which is to raise awareness about the varied experiences of people with disabilities.

Thank you Islamic Relief Canada for sponsoring this series and Sakeenah Homes for being a community partner for this session.
