SMILE is Hiring: Part-Time Marketing Coordinator

The Marketing Coordinator will oversee SMILE Canada - Support Services marketing and communications. We are looking for an independent self-starter with an eye for creativity, a passion for branding, and an interest in working in the non-profit field.


  • Maintain, update, and enhance engagement with SMILE Canada’s website and social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn).

  • Brainstorm and innovate SMILE’s brand and marketing strategies to engage diverse demographics.

  • Serve as a media liaison for media inquiries, partnerships and collaborations with other organizations and businesses.

  • Design promotional products (including posters, brochures, and web graphics) for SMILE Canada’s programs and events.

  • Edit videos and closed-caption videos on Facebook and Youtube.

  • Develop educational and promotional materials for SMILE various advocacy campaigns about disabilities.

  • Design e-newsletters and direct email marketing through various platforms.

  • Create and execute social media plans and campaign management for marketing initiatives throughout the year.

  • Ensure all content is in line with SMILE’s marketing strategy and fundraising initiatives.

  • Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly and annual marketing reports for SMILE to recommend changes and optimize opportunities for the following quarter.

  • Work with the Programs Coordinator and Fundraising Manager to create materials that engage, inform and recognize donors. This will include any marketing plans for fundraising events and or campaigns that the Fundraising Manager directs.

  • Create video content for fundraising purposes (as directed by the Fundraising Manager).

  • Other tasks as assigned.


  • Relevant experience in marketing, sales, graphic design and experience with website design, social media marketing and management.

  • 1-2 years experience working professionally.

  • A professional portfolio of work including websites, posts, videos, etc.

  • Success in public relations and networking is an asset.

  • Knowledge in issues related to disability and accessibility and familiarity with AODA standards is an asset.

  • Experience working with and understanding culturally diverse communities.

  • Knowledge in creating social media posts on Canva, and social media skills, including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Zoom and Twitter.

  • Understanding of platforms such as Wix and MailChimp.

  • Understanding of marketing and fundraising principles and the ability to participate in all areas of the development cycle.

  • Eligible to work in Canada.

Compensation and Start Date

This part-time position is home-based, 20 hours per week, for one year. Pay is $17.5/hour.
