WE ARE HIRING - Administrative Assistant (Canada Summer Jobs)
SMILE Canada - Support Services is currently seeking a youth as an Administrative Assistant to undertake a variety of administrative tasks. As this is a Canada Summer Jobs funded position, candidates must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations, and is between 18 and 30 years of age.
Duties:
Provide administrative support to the SMILE Programs Coordinator
Research local organizations, grants, and other donors for SMILE to increase funds that will support SMILE programs.
Provide technical assistance and logistical support to SMILE Volunteers specifically SMILE Team Leads
Enter records and information into a database using quality management guidelines and standards
Responsible for informing SMILE families about upcoming Kids and Youth Events
Research local resources that would support inclusion of children with disabilities in Islamic Schools
Schedule and/or provide logistical support for Community Conversations on disability related issues that will be held throughout the community.
Assist with day-to-day operations, event planning, scheduling, and other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills
Familiarity with all aspects of planning, production and execution of an event
Must be reliable and detail oriented
Ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high degree of organization
Ability to work autonomously and with a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
This is a 30-hour a week position that will run for 9-weeks starting mid-June 2019. Youth will be required to work at SMILE's local office in Mississauga, ON 2-3 times a week. Remainder work hours will be Home Based. Please Note: Selection process will include complete job description review, personal interview, background investigation, and criminal background check.
