Facing the Falls TIFF Screening

Facing the Falls shares the story of Cara's 12-day expedition through the Grand Canyon. Cara's journey to live an extraordinary life and shatter stigma against people living with disabilities serves as a reminder that we must continuously challenge our biases and perceptions, striving to build safer and more inclusive spaces for all.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to supporting racialized newcomer children with disabilities and their families. At SMILE Canada, we witness daily how families experience exclusion from essential support due to significant communication, information, and attitudinal barriers. We work towards dismantling these barriers so that children receive the timely and critical disability-related care necessary for their wellbeing. We believe that this screening will resonate with our community and provide a platform for important discussions through the fireside chat post-screening with Cara herself and Rayhan Azmat, Disability Advocate and Vice-President at Cineplex.
