Sensory Friendly Movie Screening

Join SMILE Canada – Support Services and the Oil Sands Discovery Centre for a special sensory friendly screening of Paddington in Peru in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

This inclusive event is designed to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for children and youth with disabilities, along with their families. We understand that traditional movie settings can sometimes feel overwhelming, so this screening has been thoughtfully adapted to support a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Event features include:

  • Lowered volume for a gentler sound experience
  • Soft, dimmed lighting throughout the screening
  • A relaxed, judgment-free space where attendees are free to move around, make noise, and be themselves

Families are encouraged to come as they are and enjoy the film in a setting that prioritizes comfort, accessibility, and inclusion. Whether it’s your child’s first movie experience or a chance to enjoy a familiar activity in a more supportive environment, this event is all about making space for everyone to feel at ease.
