SMILE Canada aids over 1,000 families. Many of whom are refugees residing in temporary emergency shelters, and disconnected from critical healthcare services and resources. Our urgent mission is to assist kids with disabilities and critical illnesses, including children impacted by war from Palestine, Sudan, Syria, and Afghanistan.

Newcomer children with disabilities face major barriers when arriving in Canada, including language, limited access to critical disability resources and adapting to a new environment. With Canada’s newcomer population set to rise by 30% by 2036. The demand for accessible programs like ours will only grow. (Government of Canada, 2017).
